Ten players left, eleven newcomers are on board. RB Leipzig's female footballers have started preparing for the new season and have set themselves new goals.

The RB Leipzig women's soccer team have begun preparations for their third season in the Bundesliga. Head coach Jonas Stephan welcomed eleven new signings to the new location at the "Egidius Braun" sports school in Abtnaundorf in the north-east of Leipzig at the start of training. In the presence of sporting director Marcel Schäfer and sporting director Sebastian Schuppan, a lot of emphasis was placed on phases of possession.

"We were very happy to see the familiar faces again - but also to feel the new energy of our new additions," said the 33-year-old after the first 90 minutes, "we had a good training session with a lot of focus and a great willingness to put things into practice - but also with the necessary fun."

First test match on July 12

In the first two weeks, training will be completed in individual sessions, with double sessions gradually being added from next week onwards. Leipzig was one of the three strongest teams in the league last season. Now Stephan wants to get the new team "to become one of the strongest sprinting teams."

There is not much time left until the first test match against Slask Wrocław on July 12. Just five days later, they will face VfL Wolfsburg before three more test matches in August at Sparta Prague (3 August) and Bundesliga promoted Hamburger SV (16th) as well as at home against Slavia Prague (9th).

From August 11 to 15, the Leipzig women will attend their training camp in Markt Rieden in the Upper Palatinate. The league starts on the weekend of September 6-8.
