The RB Leipzig women's soccer team will play their home opener in the Bundesliga against German champions and cup winners FC Bayern Munich at the Red Bull Arena. As the club announced, the second matchday encounter will kick off at 2 p.m. on September 14. On the first matchday, coach Jonas Stephan's newly formed team will face 1. FC Köln. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. on September 6.
Then RB striker Giovanna Hoffmann will also face her national team colleagues such as the injured DFB captain Giulia Gwinn as well as Klara Bühl, Ena Mahmutovic, Linda Dallmann, Franziska Kett and Lea Schüller, who all played for Germany at the European Championships in Switzerland.
The RBL women's debut match at Leipzig Stadium in October 2023 was watched by 10,269 spectators against VfL Wolfsburg. The RBL women narrowly lost 2-0 to the seven-time champions and two-time Champions League winners in their promotion season.
