RB Leipzig still sees room for improvement after almost ten years in the Bundesliga. Although the club has had an "outstanding decade" in the top national league, the aim is to "establish ourselves permanently in the Champions League, regularly survive the league phase and reach the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals", said RB Leipzig CEO Johann Plenge to the news portal RB Live.
The club also has national goals. "Anyone who has won the DFB Cup twice also wants to win it a third and fourth time," said the 40-year-old.
In the Bundesliga, according to the lawyer, the aim is to finish behind the record champions. They recognize Bayern Munich as the clear sporting number one, "but want to be the first challenger in the long term. We are not there yet, even if we are currently second in the table." After an unsuccessful season, however, the team is setting out again to "become a challenger for Bayern Munich in the future."
