The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has extended its home series in the German league. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore celebrated its third home win in succession with a 93:75 (47:44) victory over Basketball Lions Braunschweig. Kevin Yebo was the Niners' best scorer in front of 4,732 spectators with 19 points to move up to fourth place.
Three days after the hard-fought 89:78 victory over Ulm in the Eurocup, Chemnitz initially struggled and lacked its customary energy in defense. As a result, the visitors were 26:20 ahead after ten minutes. The Niners stepped up their intensity considerably in the second quarter and also found their rhythm in offense.
Braunschweig held out well for a long time before the home side produced a run of 17:3 across the quarters to make it 75:60 in the 33rd minute. The Niners kept up the pace after that and stretched their lead further.
