92 passenger planes take off from Saxon airports for winter vacations

A total of 92 passenger aircraft will be taking off from Saxony's airports from Friday to Sunday to mark the start of the winter vacations in Saxony and Thuringia. 23 will take off from Dresden Airport and 57 from Leipzig/Halle Airport, as Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG announced on Wednesday. In addition to major German and European cities, sunny destinations in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf are also very popular.

For example, nine aircraft fly from Leipzig to Hurghada (Egypt), seven to Antalya (Turkey) and four to Las Palmas (Spain). The airports on the Spanish vacation islands of Mallorca, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, the small Egyptian town of Marsa Alam and Dubai and Abu Dhabi (both United Arab Emirates) will also be served.

Two aircraft will also take off from Dresden to each of the destinations Antalya, Hurghada and Palma de Mallorca. There will also be flights from Dresden to Las Palmas.

The winter vacations in Saxony and Thuringia begin on Saturday. In Saxony-Anhalt, the vacations will already be over after next weekend.
