Sector growing - costs rising

According to the industry association, the number of people authorized to drive in station-based car sharing grew by around twelve percent nationwide. "The rising number of authorized drivers in station-based and combined car sharing shows that More and more people in Germany want to use car sharing," said Managing Director Gunnar Nehrke. At the same time, higher costs for vehicles, insurance and workshops, for example, are slowing down the expansion of fleets.

Recently, Teilauto also reacted to rising costs and announced that it would be increasing the price per kilometer for journeys. From April 20, users will pay three to four cents more per kilometer, depending on the type of vehicle. The company spoke of a price increase "on sight". It is monitoring further developments.
