Leipzig's Spring Clean 2025 sees record participation. Over 2,800 participants get involved for a clean Leipzig and send a strong signal.

"Leipzig is cleaning up" - this is the traditional motto for Leipzig's spring clean, in which the city is once again enthusiastically participating in 2025. The record participation at the halfway point is particularly pleasing: more people are taking part than has been the case for at least 10 years.

Mayor of Public Order Heiko Rosenthal is satisfied: "We are seeing an increased willingness to take part in the collection campaigns." 132 initiatives have registered with a total of 2,863 participants. Equipped with green bags, grabbers and gloves, hundreds of people collected a considerable amount of waste in just twelve days.

The results speak for themselves: 277 full spring cleaning bags, over 4 cubic meters of bulky waste and more than two cubic meters of illegally disposed mixed construction waste were collected and disposed of by Stadtreinigung Leipzig. The first operations manager of Stadtreinigung, Thomas Kretzschmar, emphasizes the importance of civic engagement.

Stadtreinigung supports initiatives free of charge with materials and an improved online registration system. This facilitates the organization and enables the precise specification of collection points. Interested parties can participate until April 14 and free public areas from garbage.
