Minister of Agriculture Wolfram Günther has criticized the federal government's planned abolition of benefits for farmers. "This comes out of the blue for the sector," the Green politician said on Thursday. Specifically, the plan of the traffic light coalition to abolish concessions for agricultural diesel and vehicle tax for agricultural machinery. This is provided for in the agreement on the 2024 federal budget. Günther emphasized that climate-damaging subsidies must be reduced. "But to present an industry with two fait accompli in one fell swoop is wrong."
