The handball players of SC DHfK Leipzig still have to wait for their second away win in the German league. However, the team of Head Coach Runar Sigtryggsson at least secured a 31:31 (16:19) draw at Bergischer HC on Thursday evening. After four defeats in a row, it was the Leipzig club's first point against a fearsome opponent. With nine goals, Franz Semper was the best scorer for SC DHfK in front of 2,259 spectators, who now remain in ninth place with 13:15 points.
The club from Leipzig began at a high tempo and led 4:2 after five minutes. It made consistent use of its chances and initially also benefited from the fact that goalkeeper Domenico Ebner, who had shone with 20 saves in the 36:30 home win against TVB Stuttgart a week earlier, got into the game right away. An open exchange of blows ensued, with the visitors proving very susceptible to fast breaks and trailing for the first time at 9:10 in the 15th minute. The BHC acted with more determination overall and, after a 4:0 run to make it 16:12 (24'), took its highest lead to date.
