The company Banketbakkerij Merba B.V. has recalled various types of cookies nationwide. The reason for the recall is that the packs could contain metal contaminants. The affected products were immediately withdrawn from sale, the company announced on Tuesday. They were available in almost all German states.

The recall affects batches with a best-before date up to December 12, 2024 of "Biscotto Premium Cookies Triple Chocolate 200g", which are available at Aldi Nord, and "Biscoteria Triple Choc Cookies with milk, dark and white chocolate 200g", which are sold at Netto Marken-Discount. Batches with a best-before date up to December 13, 2024 of "Ja! American Style Cookies Chocolate Chips 225g", which are available at REWE, and "COVO Classic Cookies 225g", which are available at Penny, are also affected. The same applies to the "K-Classic American Style Cookies Chocolate 225g" available at Kaufland with a best-before date until December 14, 2024.

Customers can return the affected products to the respective supermarkets and will be refunded the purchase price even without a receipt.
