The logistics service provider L.I.T. AG is having a new logistics center built in Kabelsketal. A building with a total of 50,600 square meters of floor space is to be constructed in the immediate vicinity of freeways and Leipzig/Halle Airport by August next year, according to Panattoni, the company commissioned with the construction. The project is intended to strengthen the region as an important logistics and automotive hub, it added. Construction already began in November. Plans for the site also include "fossil-free heating using heat pumps", rainwater harvesting and photovoltaic systems across the entire roof area.
