Dresden SPD MEP Matthias Ecke is doing well under the circumstances following the attack on him while hanging up election posters. He underwent surgery on Sunday, said Saxony's SPD leader Henning Homann at the state headquarters in Dresden. He had suffered a fracture to his cheekbone and eye socket as well as hematomas on his face.
