A survey conducted by the ADFC cycling club shows that the Elbe Cycle Route is Germany's most popular long-distance cycle route. Around 17,300 internet users took part in the representative online survey, according to the Elbe Cycle Path South Coordination Office at the Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association. The Elbe Cycle Path regained the top position after five years. Most recently, the Weser Cycle Route took first place in the ADFC cycle tour analysis.
The Elbe Cycle Path runs over 1,300 kilometers from the Czech Giant Mountains to the North Sea. It crosses several national parks, but major cities such as Dresden, Magdeburg and Hamburg are also located along the route.
