On Thursday, 06.03.2025, investigators from the Leipzig criminal investigation department, together with officers from the Central Services Inspectorate, carried out a search in a pub on Eisenbahnstraße in Leipzig, Volkmarsdorf. The operation took place on the basis of an existing search warrant, which had been applied for at Leipzig District Court on suspicion of illicit trafficking in narcotics and approved by an investigating judge.
The operation was the result of a long-term investigation, which indicated that drugs were being trafficked in this bar. At around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, the officers entered the bar, supported by two narcotics detection dogs. During the operation, the officers observed a person throwing a bag out of the window into the courtyard, which later contained narcotics.
In the course of the search, a 42-year-old Lebanese suspect was arrested. The officers found heroin, marijuana and cash amounting to several hundred euros on him. Further searches in the premises revealed drug paraphernalia as well as large quantities of marijuana, cocaine and crystal meth. A locked safe was also seized.
