After the Bautzen Theater Summer, the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater can take stock of the season with complete satisfaction. The next productions for the new season are already in the starting blocks.

Around 38,000 people visited the Bautzen Theater Summer this year. According to the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater, the open-air production "Alice in Wonderland" was the centerpiece of the summer with 35 sold-out performances. 35,629 spectators saw the play.

Another 844 guests attended the castle film nights, while 1,490 spectators came to performances in the theater garden. Next year, "Spuk von draußen" will be on the program.

The theater summer also marks the end of the 2024/2025 season, in which the theater welcomed 121,370 guests at 748 events. "This season was characterized by great diversity and lively bilingualism," said Artistic Director Lutz Hillmann. With an international theater meeting, guest performances in Bucharest and Santiago de Compostela as well as 27 premieres, audiences at home and abroad were moved. "It was a season that showed how lively and unifying theater can be."

The new season is set to begin at the end of August.
