There are restrictions on the Berlin-Leipzig railroad line due to an embankment fire. In Brandenburg, the line between Jüterbog and Ludwigsfelde is currently closed due to the fire, Deutsche Bahn announced on its website. An ICE train to Hamburg had to stop in Trebbin south of Berlin and return to Leipzig, a spokeswoman said. Previously, "Bild" had reported.
Long-distance trains are being rerouted, according to Deutsche Bahn. There may be occasional train or stop cancellations, the railroad spokeswoman said. The following long-distance services are affected:
- ICE trains between Berlin and Halle(S)/Leipzig
- ICE Sprinter trains between Berlin and Erfurt
- Some IC trains between Berlin and Riesa/Dresden.
