Blood donations have been declining since mid-October. The supply is still secure, but if fewer people come to donate on just a few days, the depots could quickly be used up.
Donating and receiving blood is based on solidarity. A generational change is now imminent - baby boomers are increasingly turning from donors into recipients. Now the next generation is in demand.
