ThSV Eisenach has responded to the premature transfer of national handball player Marko Grgic to SG Flensburg-Handewitt and the long-term absence of Aleksandar Capric due to injury by signing a new backcourt player shortly before the start of preparations for the coming season. Vukasin Antonijevic joins from RK Celje, a top team from Slovenia, and has signed a two-year contract with the club from Thuringia.
The 21-year-old Serbian has already gained his first experience at the highest level with Celje, competing in the group stage of the Champions League in the 2023/24 season. Antonijevic played against top teams such as SC Magdeburg, FC Barcelona and Veszprem HC. In 2022/23, Celje achieved a national triple success of championship, cup win and Super Cup victory. In the summer of 2022, Antonijevic moved to Slovenia from Serbian first division club RK Metaloplastika in his home town of Sabac.
