Third division soccer club Hallescher FC must once again pay a heavy fine for some unruly supporters. The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) sentenced the team from Halle to pay 16,600 euros, of which 5,500 euros can be used for security or violence prevention measures. The punishment was for the discriminatory and unsportsmanlike behavior of HFC supporters in the DFB Cup match against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in August, when a firecracker was thrown onto the pitch and Bengal lights and smoke were set off in the HFC fan block. In addition, a spectator from Halle insulted Fürth player Julian Green several times in the second half by shouting racist slurs.
