Numerous clubs in the Regionalliga Nordost are calling on their soccer association to exert greater influence on the schedule. They are currently complaining about serious, negative effects for the clubs.

Twelve clubs in the Regionalliga Nordost have written a position paper to the North-East German Football Association (NOFV) calling for changes to the way matches are scheduled. "The clubs are facing increasing challenges due to the current handling of match fixtures and the strong influence of media representatives," Chemnitzer FC, one of the signatory teams, announced on its website.

The aim is to create "a sustainable change in the sense of fair and transparent cooperation", in which the clubs are more involved in the decision-making process. One of the demands is that matches at weekends should always be scheduled at 2 p.m. and weekday matches should not start before 7 p.m. The reasons cited include the fact that many players work, but also the mobilization of the public.

"Scheduling matches at short notice makes it more difficult to ensure appropriate planning and organization," the statement also reads, speaking of "serious negative effects on the clubs".

In addition to the CFC, the current top teams Lok Leipzig, Hallescher FC and FSV Zwickau are also among the signatories. The clubs Hertha 03 Zehlendorf, BFC Dynamo, VSG Altglienicke, Viktoria Berlin, ZFC Meuselwitz and FSV Luckenwalde have not signed up.
