The good news: things are looking up for Benjamin Henrichs. However, a second operation was necessary, as he now explains.

Football international Benjamin Henrichs from RB Leipzig is now making very good progress after tearing his Achilles tendon in December last year. However, this required a second operation, as he explains in the fifth part of his documentary "Faith over Fear" on YouTube.

Since the second operation, things have been looking up, said the 28-year-old: "I can say that I can finally train normally." The operation was carried out in Munich in mid-April. Initially, he had problems mentally processing the new operation. "I had the feeling it was starting all over again." This was preceded by severe pain when he took off the stabilization boot and crutches.

However, things have turned out for the better. "I can say that I'm at a point in training where I can train my calf so tired without pain that it just feels good," Henrichs continued: "I've been walking around with sore muscles for days, but I don't have a problem with it at all because I just have the feeling that the muscle is growing again. I'm now in a training process that is helping me."

The 19-time international suffered the serious injury on 20 December in the Bundesliga match away to FC Bayern (1:5). Munich will play in Leipzig next Saturday, where they could possibly clinch the title.

Henrichs doesn't want to stress about his comeback. I have to be there when I'm feeling good and I'm training as hard as I can for that," he said in the documentary.
