According to Minister President Kretschmer, the new RB office is "a statement". For Managing Director Mintzlaff, this was a wish specifically expressed by Red Bull founder Mateschitz. Only one is missing.

Oliver Mintzlaff has opened the newly built offices of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in the presence of Mark Mateschitz. "This shows the esteem in which RB Leipzig is held by you," said the Red Bull CEO on the visit of the son of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who had traveled from Salzburg with his partner Victoria Swarovski and family.

Mintzlaff welcomed the celebrities in the new 60 million euro building at "Arenablick 1", which was packed with 600 guests from the worlds of politics, business and sport and is also intended to clearly demonstrate the club's international aspirations. Only the Group's global head of soccer, Jürgen Klopp, was absent.

Red Bull founder Mateschitz wanted "something great"

"We are standing in an office that is very impressive. It is a working environment that we have created here, which is certainly unparalleled when we look at Bundesliga soccer clubs. We have built for the future," said Mintzlaff.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RB Leipzig recalled the founding idea of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who died in 2022. "We have really, really inhabited this soccer map and it's hard to imagine life without us," said the 50-year-old, referring to the club's modern infrastructure.

After the rapid development with the Champions League, "we went back to Mr. Mateschitz, who said we should build something great, we have to give the club a real home in the long term. And we have that home here," said Mintzlaff in the middle of the RB headquarters with a total area of 14,500 square meters on four floors. During construction, 2,000 cubic meters of spruce wood from the Bavarian Forest were also used. Almost 290 photovoltaic modules on the roof and façade supply around 120,000 kWh of clean energy per year.

Prime Minister praises Mintzlaff despite dispute: "Nice guy"

Michael Kretschmer, Prime Minister of Saxony, brought an almost two-metre tall Herrnhut poinsettia as a gift. "It's quite a statement when you see it here," he said of the new building and added: "You have played your way into people's hearts. May a good star always shine above you."

At the same time, the CDU politician recalled the many differences of opinion - especially during the coronavirus pandemic. "You can really argue with him, but he's also a really nice guy," said the Minister President to Mintzlaff and gave him an appreciative hug.
