RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi may have suffered a concussion in a violent collision with David Zec of Holstein Kiel. "We are assuming that he has a head injury," said RB coach Zsolt Löw after the 1:1 (0:1) draw against the bottom team in the Bundesliga. "Pete is conscious, he also spoke briefly on the phone with our goalkeeping coach. That's a good sign."
In the 62nd minute, Gulacsi, who had rushed out of his goal, and Zec collided at full stretch. According to their coaches, both players briefly lost consciousness. There was an oppressive silence in the stadium during the minutes-long treatment, and Gulacsi was eventually carried off the pitch on a stretcher to applause. Benjamin Sesko (74th minute) equalized Kiel's lead shortly afterwards through Shuto Machino (44th).
