The use of artificial intelligence is intended to help doctors with diagnostics and patient care. Expertise is to be pooled in Leipzig.

The University Hospital Leipzig (UKL) is setting up a special department for artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. This is intended to bundle AI expertise, as the UKL announced. The primary goal is to find and implement scientifically sound AI solutions for patient care.

"In our recently adopted digitalization strategy, we have set ourselves the goal, among other things, of increasingly implementing AI in diagnostics and clinical decision support in order to further improve care," explained Robert Jacob, Chief Commercial Officer of the UKL.
