Polish border guards have refused entry to 24 people in the first week of checks at the border with Germany. This was reported by Konrad Szwed, spokesman for the Polish Border Guard Agency, according to the PAP news agency in Warsaw. The Polish center-left government had ordered random border checks at the border sections with Germany and Lithuania last Monday. It justified this with increased irregular migration. The move is also seen as a response to German border controls since October 2023.
