The pistachio cream "Gourmet Celebi" is being recalled due to possible contamination with salmonella. According to the portal Lebensmittelwarnung.de, 200-gram jars with a best-before date of December 23, 2026 are affected. The product from the company Akar, north-east of Munich, was sold nationwide. Customers can return goods they have already purchased to the store without a receipt and receive a refund, according to the company, which is based in Langenbach near Freising. The company supplies supermarket chains such as Edeka, Rewe, Lidl and Norma. According to the Federal Institute of Public Health, salmonella bacteria can cause a typical food-borne infection, often with diarrhea, fever, headaches and abdominal pain, occasionally also with vomiting. Infants, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are considered to be particularly at risk. For them, diarrhea and vomiting can severely dehydrate the body, which increases the risk of further complications. If you have symptoms, you are advised to see a doctor. Preventive treatment without signs of illness, on the other hand, is not advisable. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reservedReturns can be made without a receipt
