Drivers can expect busy roads at the weekend

According to the ADAC, the most affected freeways include virtually all major German routes towards the Alps, for example freeways 5, 7, 8, 93 and 95, but traffic jams and delays are also expected on other major freeways such as the A1, A3 and A6 at the weekend.

It may also take longer in Austria

On the way to the winter vacations and on the return journey, however, the risk of traffic jams in Austria is not averted. According to the report, the Tauern, Inntal and Brenner highways in particular may be full at the weekend. On the latter, there is an additional bottleneck with the Lueg Bridge, which is currently usually only accessible in one lane. There is also likely to be a lot of traffic on the Tyrolean long-distance pass route.
