Four talented young swimmers from Leipzig will represent their city at the 2025 European Junior Championships, continuing a proud tradition.

Leipzig will send four talented young swimmers to compete at this year's European Junior Swimming Championships. This week, the German Swimming Federation officially named Emma Luise Breuer, Mitja Bauer and Limaris Dix from SSG Leipzig to the team for the European Junior Championships taking place from June 30 to July 6 in Samorin, Slovakia.

They are joined by Leni von Bonin, who competes for her home club Dresdner SC, but has been training at the base in Leipzig since this season. The young top swimmer recently surprised everyone at the German Championships, where she won the 200m butterfly title and bronze in the 400m medley in the open class. The JEM nomination also continues an impressive streak: since 2018, every junior national team for the Junior European Championships has included talent from the Leipzig base. The series could go back even further if the German Swimming Association had not completely refrained from entering a team for the Junior European Championships in 2017.

The talents from the trade fair city are therefore regular guests at the international level of junior swimming. With four JEM team members nominated this season, the Leipzig base has even set a new record for this decade!

And that's not all: Leipzig will also play a role at the U23 European Championships at the end of June. Newly crowned German champion Louis Schubert and World Championship rider Timo Sorgius have been nominated for the title fights, which will also take place in Samorin. For Sorgius, it will be a good test of form for the World Championships in Singapore a few weeks later. The swimming aces of SSG Leipzig are therefore facing an intensive summer on the big stages of swimming!
