Two broken-down heavy goods vehicles blocked traffic on the A4 near Waldhufen (district of Görlitz) for several hours. The two trucks wanted to drive through the Königshainer Berge tunnel in the direction of Görlitz on Wednesday morning, as the police reported on Thursday. However, only one lane was free in the tunnel due to roadworks - which the drivers and contractors apparently did not know because they had not registered.
According to the police, the tunnel was closed with great effort and several consultations, the roadworks were cleared and the two transports were escorted to the Wiesaer Forst parking lot. The tunnel could only be reopened once the construction site had been re-established. The police filed charges against the drivers involved and the contractors.
