Appearances at trade fairs are intended to network the Saxon gaming industry and create internationality

Appearances at trade fairs in Germany and abroad are intended to network the Saxon gaming sector with the industry and give it an international profile. According to the Saxony Economic Development Corporation (WfS), presentations at Caggtus in Leipzig, Gamescom in Cologne and Gitex in Dubai are planned for Easter Monday. The importance of interactive approaches of so-called gamification - the transfer of typical game elements to real and industrial applications - is growing in many sectors. For Saxony in particular, as a high-tech location, this offers points of contact and innovation potential that support the competitiveness of companies.

According to WfS, almost 200 players are already active in gaming and gamification across the state. "They are developing solutions for digital twins, smart homes, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) and projects for use in the life sciences, automotive and IT sectors, among others." In addition, there is "an attractive and thematically interesting university landscape" with over 20 different degree programs in Zwickau, Mittweida, Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig.

The games industry, together with the software industry, is one of the fastest-growing sub-markets of the creative industries in Saxony, said Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig (SPD). It has great potential at the interface with other industries. Gamification enables innovative and playful solutions for various challenges - from improving human-machine interaction in robotics or for training and simulation purposes in the aerospace industry to qualification programs.
