Lighting Display at the Karl Marx Monument for the Automotive Industry in Saxony

“Enough is enough!”: On Saturday evening, about 100 union representatives from IG Metall staged a light installation at the Karl Marx Monument in Chemnitz to send a message in support of preserving the automotive industry in the region. The industry, a defining cultural feature of the region, is under threat, said Eddie Kruppa, chief representative of IG Metall Chemnitz.

The goal is to establish new products, technologies, and employment opportunities in the region. The issues at stake include plant capacity utilization, restructuring, investments, and securing future value creation.
