Eta after 1:3 in Leipzig: "The boys stayed together"

Marie-Louise Eta wants to take the positive signs with her after the second setback with Union Berlin. "I saw a team that always believed in itself and fought back. The boys who came in also gave a good boost. I think we can get a lot out of it," said the 34-year-old head coach of Köpenick after the 3-1 defeat at RB Leipzig.

It was the seventh defeat in the last ten games for Union, and the sporting crisis had also led to the departure of Steffen Baumgart. Eta then took over as the first female head coach in the Bundesliga. Nevertheless, the coach sees a development. "We won the ball well, but then simply didn't do enough with it. We lacked the courage in possession to play out the situation more consistently," said Eta.

Eta: Team "kept believing"

She added with a view to the precarious situation in the relegation battle: "I saw a team that kept believing, the boys stayed together, kept supporting each other. We couldn't expect to turn everything around in a short space of time." Now they play Cologne at home, "where we want to get three points", said Eta.

With 32 points, Berlin are six points ahead of FC St. Pauli in the relegation places. Leipzig, meanwhile, consolidated third place and thus their major goal of the Champions League.
