Two new players, two departures for Leipzig handball team

After the weakest Bundesliga season in the club's history, the handball team SC DHfK Leipzig is continuing its rebuilding process. The 23-year-old backcourt player Blaer Hinriksson and left winger Tom Koschek (18) are among the new signings in the preparations that have just begun.

Hinriksson comes from Icelandic club Afturelding and has signed a one-year contract. Koschek is on loan from VfL Gummersbach for one season. Andri Rúnarsson, who performed well last season, is moving to rival HC Erlangen. Home-grown talent Nils Greilich will no longer be part of the professional squad.

The Saxons recently signed Raúl Alonso as their new head coach. The Spaniard succeeds Runar Sigtryggsson, who the club parted ways with prematurely after the weakest season in the German top flight.
