David Raum is entering the final year of his contract with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig without a follow-up contract. In an interview with Bild, the captain left open whether he will stay with the Saxons beyond that. "The club is in talks with my agency. However, my focus was on reaching the Champions League and is now the World Cup, for which I am now preparing myself in the best possible way. My priority right now is to play a super tournament. After that, we'll still have enough time to sit down together," said the national player.
In principle, he feels very comfortable in the city and with the team. "Of course, I hear about interests left and right from time to time. And I still make no secret of the fact that I still have dreams as a player. But I've received a lot of appreciation here in Leipzig, especially this season, and am now captain of a Champions League club, so that's absolutely not my focus at the moment," said the 28-year-old.
