The volleyball players of VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen have been eliminated from the play-off quarter-finals for the German championship. The promoted team also lost the second duel of the "Best of Three" series on Friday at Helios Grizzlys Giesen 0:3 in three sets (20:25, 14:25, 16:25). Niklas Breilin, who was voted the most valuable player, played the biggest part in the hosts' victory after 71 minutes.
The Bitterfeld side was only able to trouble the favorites a little in the first half, when they fought back to 18:21 after trailing 11:18. But in the end, the team from Giesen secured the set win and dominated the next two rounds. The hosts had more penetration in attack and also made fewer reception errors.
