The RB Leipzig women's soccer team celebrated their first win of the second half of the Bundesliga season. Coach Stephan Jonas' team won 4:1 (1:0) at Werder Bremen on matchday 14. With the help of goals from Vanessa Fudalla (7, 63), Emilia Asgeirsdottir (56) and Marleen Schimmer (90+2), the Saxons climbed from eighth to fifth in the closely bunched midfield.
On the training pitch at the Weser Stadium, Giovanna Hoffmann had the lead on her feet in the fifth minute, but put the ball over the goal from inside the penalty area without any pressure. Less than two minutes later, Fudalla was more successful and tucked the ball into the top right-hand corner.
