In the discussion about the future promotion regulations and the division in the regional soccer leagues, the clubs in the north-east are leaning towards a compass model. This was the result of a two-and-a-half-hour meeting of the NOFV clubs in Peißen.
"The most important thing for me was the agreement in the north-east between the association and the clubs that we will continue to work on the realization of "champions must be promoted". It was an information event about the results of the working group, which is important for the regional league clubs, but also for the third division clubs and Oberliga clubs," said Hermann Winkler, President of the North-East German Football Association, to the German Press Agency.
