Good news for Saxony's taxpayers: the tax offices in the Free State process tax returns particularly quickly compared to the rest of Germany.

Saxony's tax offices are among the fastest in Germany, according to the taxpayers' association. With an average processing time of 42 days for income tax returns, the Free State has improved from 11th to 3rd place in a nationwide comparison, the taxpayers' association announced in Chemnitz. Only in Hesse and Berlin were the offices even faster. For employee tax returns, Saxony is even in 2nd place in a nationwide comparison.

"This is a pleasing result for taxpayers in Saxony. Anyone waiting for an immediate tax refund will benefit from fast processing by the tax offices," emphasized Dirk Mohr, President of the Saxony Taxpayers Association. The development shows what efficient administrative processes and the ongoing digitalization of the tax authorities can achieve.
