Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer believes structural reforms are necessary following a decision on the multi-billion euro financial package for defense and infrastructure. "This second step must come", said the CDU politician in the Bundesrat. It is necessary to ensure that the large financial resources have an impact. The federal and state governments have a duty to do this.
A different dynamic was needed in Germany. "We need to remove the brakes on growth." Kretschmer mentioned reforms in labor law, for example, and that planning procedures must be accelerated so that construction can be completed more quickly.
