Several hundred people demonstrated in Chemnitz on Saturday under the slogan "All together against fascism" against a march by the far-right Free Saxony party. Around 400 people took part in the protest, according to the police.

In the meantime, several people are said to have tried to block the Free Saxons' action with a sit-in blockade. According to the police, the blockade was broken up again shortly afterwards.
The organizers of the counter-demonstration "Chemnitz Nazifrei" wrote on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that pepper spray had been used in the meantime. Several people were also injured.
A police spokesperson confirmed the use of pepper spray, but there was no information on possible injuries.
