Saxony's major harvest festival will be jointly hosted by Neukirchen in the Ore Mountains and the Chemnitz district of Klaffenbach in 2027. "This cooperation sends a clear signal: success lies in working together," explained Regina Kraushaar (CDU), Minister for Regional Development, at the announcement. "Local borders lose their significance and local people can benefit." The state harvest festival next year will build a bridge between the urban environment and rural identity.
The festival in the fall attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year. There is a large parade and the most beautiful harvest crowns are chosen. This year, Wurzen (Leipzig district) is the host.
