Radebeul knows wine. Radebeul knows theater. And once a year, Radebeul manages to combine the two quite well. From September 18 to 20, 2026, Altkötzschenbroda will once again be the venue for the Autumn and Wine Festival and the International Traveling Theater Festival. The 34th edition of the Wine Festival will coincide with the 29th edition of the Theater Festival. This year’s theme is “L’amore”—a theme that prompted Sascha Graedke, in his role as Bacchus, to be particularly delighted by the presence of the wine queens at the Gepann for the opening of the dual festival: “Last year we were just a group of guys—that wasn’t so great!” Wine Queen Luise Puhlmann can only smile at this—of course, she and the two Wine Princesses, Jessica Löffler and Joséphine Sander, brighten up such festivals.
Around 50,000 visitors are expected over the three days of the festival. They appreciate the uniqueness of this wine festival, where you can see and hear world-class art virtually as you walk by. And the enthusiastic visitors to the traveling theater festival are happy to put up with one or two (or even a few) of these little inconveniences. The selection is vast; local winemakers serve their wines at around 40 wine stands. They’re looking forward to it, even though the event likely falls right in the middle of the harvest for most of them. But a festival like this also helps make room in the cellars for the new wine.
