As summer vacation begins in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia, numerous vacationers are once again heading south from the Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports this weekend. According to Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, a total of 64 passenger flights are scheduled—42 from Leipzig/Halle and 22 from Dresden.
Sun destinations in demand
From Leipzig/Halle, 35 vacation flights and seven scheduled flights are planned. Antalya (Turkey) and Palma de Mallorca (Spain) are particularly popular destinations. The flight schedule also includes, among others, Hurghada and Marsa Alam (Egypt), Heraklion, Rhodes, and Corfu (Greece), Fuerteventura, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria (Spain), as well as Varna and Burgas (Bulgaria) and Bodrum (Turkey) are on the flight schedule.
Ten vacation flights and twelve scheduled flights will depart from Dresden. Popular vacation destinations include Antalya (Turkey), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Heraklion and Rhodes (Greece), and Bolzano (Italy). Lufthansa offers the most scheduled flights, with connections to Frankfurt and Munich. Swiss also connects the Saxon capital with Zurich. Numerous other destinations worldwide are accessible via these hubs.
