In many places in the Ore Mountains, freshly groomed cross-country ski trails beckon. In some places, however, the snow cover remains thin.

Get on your skis and hit the trails: after the snow and frost of the past few days, cross-country skiers are now getting their money's worth in many places. The popular Erzgebirge/Vogtland ridge trail has been prepared for skiers, according to the responsible working group. The condition of the trails is good, but the snow cover is still very thin in some places. The snow depth ranges from ten centimetres in Grünbach and Muldenberg to 20 centimetres in Carlsfeld and Johanngeorgenstadt.

The ridge trail stretches for around 36 kilometers from the Vogtland into the Ore Mountains, with a number of connecting trails as access points. It runs along the Erzgebirge ridge from Johanngeorgenstadt to Schöneck and has been awarded the title "Excellent trail".
