Due to construction work on the Leipzig-Dresden railroad line, rail customers will have to put up with considerable restrictions at the end of June. Between June 23 and 29, the line between Dornreichenbach and Dahlen will be completely closed for extensive renewal work on the points, as announced by Deutsche Bahn.
During this period, the Wiesbaden-Dresden ICE line will only run to and from Leipzig, with no stops in Riesa, Dresden-Neustadt and Dresden Hbf. Long-distance passengers can use replacement buses between Leipzig and Dresden. Some trains will be rerouted with a journey time extension of up to 90 minutes and without stopping in Riesa. From June 27, ICE trains between Erfurt and Leipzig will be rerouted due to further construction work on the high-speed line, which may result in travel time extensions of up to 60 minutes.
In addition, trains on the S 3 line between Borsdorf, Wurzen and Oschatz and the RE 50 line between Wurzen and Oschatz will be canceled. A replacement bus service has also been set up here.
The railroad asks all travelers to check the digital travel information media or the DB Navigator app before starting their journey.
