Six people were injured - including five children - in a traffic accident involving a coach at the highway exit near Burkau in the district of Bautzen. According to the police, the 73-year-old bus driver wanted to turn left from the A4 towards Rammenau at the junction on Monday afternoon. In doing so, he apparently took the right of way from a car coming from the left. A collision occurred. The 56-year-old driver was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Five children who were on the bus were slightly injured.
The damage caused is estimated at around 15,000 euros. The police are now looking for witnesses who observed the accident or can provide information about the vehicles involved. First responders at the scene of the accident are also asked to contact the traffic inspectorate.
