Creditors approve reorganization plan at Heiterblick

The insolvent Leipzig-based streetcar manufacturer Heiterblick has taken a decisive step towards rescue. The creditors have approved the restructuring plan, as the company announced. This clears the way for the continuation of operations and the planned takeover by the Polish manufacturer Pesa.

Court approval

The plan was voted on at Leipzig District Court on Wednesday. It provides for a comprehensive restructuring of the financial and operational structures. The aim is to secure the company's competitiveness and preserve around 250 jobs.

According to the company, the self-administration proceedings could be concluded in the coming weeks. The completion of the takeover by Pesa, which was agreed in December, is linked to this.

Restart and expansion planned

The integration into the Polish group is intended to create a joint supplier for the German and Western European market, which will be managed from Leipzig. Production at Heiterblick was recently ramped up again in order to process existing orders and win new ones.

Heiterblick fell into crisis in spring 2025 and underwent restructuring proceedings under self-administration. The reasons for this included increased costs and problems in the supply chains. Pesa's investment is intended to strengthen the Leipzig site and expand production in the future.
