Production has restarted at the insolvent Leipzig streetcar manufacturer Heiterblick. "Short-time working has ended," confirmed a company spokesperson. After months of uncertainty, regular operations are gradually returning to the factory halls. The "Leipziger Volkszeitung" had previously reported.
Takeover to be completed this spring
The economic foundation for the rescue has been laid. According to the spokesperson, "everything is in the bag". However, the takeover by the Polish rail vehicle manufacturer Pesa has yet to be finalized. The court is expected to confirm the insolvency plan in mid-April, followed by a statutory objection period for creditors. The change of ownership could then be finalized at the end of May.
Pesa announced its intention to take over Heiterblick in full at the beginning of January. An agreement to this effect had already been signed in December, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2026.
