The State Directorate of Saxony is funding projects for a stable water supply with 6.7 million euros - even in the event of a disaster. What was implemented with the money.

The State Directorate of Saxony (LDS) has approved a total of 6.7 million euros in federal funding for a secure water supply in Saxony over the past five years. The aim is to use the approved funds from the Water Security Act to ensure security of supply even in times of disaster, as the LDS announced on World Water Day on March 22.

The funds were used to repair old raw water catchments, set up emergency power supplies for individual systems and purchase water transport trailers. "A reliable water supply is vital, especially in the event of a disaster - it ensures the basic supply of water to the population," said LDS President Béla Bélafi. In addition to ensuring a secure supply for the population and the economy, environmental protection of water bodies must also be guaranteed.
