How do you recognize whether drivers and other road users may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol? The police in East Saxony practiced this during two large-scale checks. The campaign was aimed at training around 40 police officers, according to the Görlitz police headquarters.
Two checkpoints were set up on the B96 in Bautzen and on the B6 in Markersdorf. Specially trained officers instructed their colleagues on how to proceed when detecting drugs in road traffic. It was not initially clear how many drivers were actually detected for drugs or alcohol.
